WS-8157U-CH-IT is handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented cherry finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. It can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand.
This alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that’s used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. The weather forecast is estimated to be 75% accurate, is based on change in air pressure over time.
The clock comes with La Crosse transmitter TX37U-TI. Clock and transmitter each operate on two (02) AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three (03) screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included.
I find that the units keep extremely accurate time, including changing from standard to daylight and vice versa with no problem (and this IS a problem with older atomic clocks since daylight time was extended a year or two ago). I also find the temperature and barometer readings to be very accurate, having compared them to other weather station-type gear I have.
The instrument is attractive and easy to read and follow. Time digits are large. The wood is a pretty accent and goes well with the room decor. We placed the outdoor sensor under our deck which puts the sensor about 5′ off the ground. We liked using this location to protect the sensor and keep it out of direct sunlight. I am very pleased with the quality of the product, graphics, styling, and range of temperature.
We have similar (without weather forecast) clock for more than 6 years now. It is very convenient and worked without any problems before outside sensor went kaput. Instead of buying a new sensor we’ve got this clock with forecast for another room. It arrived very fast and worked right out of the box. Now we have two clocks in different rooms showing the outside temperature from the same sensor.
Very satisfied with La Crosse Technology WS-8157U-CH-IT, We searched all over for a good clock and weather station and either they were over priced or only mounted on the wall. This product was fair priced and works great.
